About 150,000 spinal cord injured persons live in Japan today and annually
this number increases by about 5,000. (450,000 spinal cord injured and
10,000 annual increase in America)
Frequent causes of spinal cord injuries are:
automobile accidents, falls, bruise and athletic accidents. Almost a half of
the causes are automobile accidents. It is very hard to reduce spinal cord
injury rate because social environment remains unsafe in Japan.
